QISMAT was founded by Elvin Bektesevic and Marina S. Haq. Bektesevic is an entrepreneur who, along with his brother, launched the successful lifestyle magazine BMQ and the soccer magazine DIE11.com. They also have a clothing brand called Denium. Marina S. Haq received her master’s degree in English literature and linguistics and in Modern Asian and Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Zurich. She is the editor in chief of the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Switzerland Magazine and has written articles for various Swiss media outlets, such as NZZ am Sonntag Magazin, Tages Anzeiger’s Das Magazin and the women’s lifestyle magazine Annabelle. Haq, who is appointed as the CEO and editor in chief at QISMAT, merges her Western background and Eastern roots in Switzerland, aligning with the magazine’s mission.
