The Austrian online supermarket Alfies has expanded its services to Switzerland, offering delivery from Affoltern to Zurich from 8 am to 10 pm within 60 to 120 minutes.
Founded by Gunther Michl, his brother Gerald Michl and their school friend Thomas Ecker, who grew up in Salzburg, Alfies originated from an unconventional background. Coming from outside of the industry, the founders brought a fresh perspective to the potential of delivery services and established Alfies in 2015. Starting with approximately 30 products, exclusively drinks and snacks, they operated from a VW bus transformed into a mobile warehouse. The startup, along with its product range, experienced steady growth, culminating in the expansion to Graz in 2021. The founders envision further expansion in the future, guided by the mission to simplify people’s everyday lives.
